Publisher

Chicane, a car comparison tool based on simulated tests, is published by a natural person, in a non-professional capacity and on a non-profit basis.

As Article 1-1, II, of French Act No. 2004-575 of 21 June 2004 on confidence in the digital economy allows persons who publish an online service in a non-professional capacity, the publisher does not publish their identity: they have provided it to the hosting provider named below. The publication is directed by the publisher themselves.

Reporting content

Visitors can upload 3D models and propose measurement readings. An uploaded model is only published once the administrator has approved it; a reading, after an automatic or manual review. To report content you consider unlawful or infringing your rights — a model distributed without its author's consent, for instance — write to contact@chicane3d.com, giving the address of the page or the name of the model, and the reason for the report. Reported content is reviewed and, where appropriate, removed promptly.

Intellectual property

The Chicane software is distributed under the GNU GPL, version 3; the three.js library it uses, under the MIT licence. The open datasets behind the wide database are credited in the application's "About" window, as their licences require. Each uploaded 3D model remains under the licence chosen by its author, shown with its credit.

The brands and model names mentioned belong to their owners. They are only used to designate the vehicles compared, and their mention implies no connection with them.

Liability

The times, distances and speeds displayed are computed by a simulation, from published or estimated specifications. They are given for information only and do not replace a measurement. Readings proposed by visitors are published with their source, after an automatic or manual review, without any guarantee of accuracy.
